2025 Year in Review
As I was thinking about the year 2025, I kept hearing the tune of one of my favorite songs from 1969 was In the Year 2525. The song goes way far into the future not 55 years but 555. As we move into the next wave of super tech machine learning and data centers popping up, quotes like “some machine will do that for you”, “we choose our sons and daughters too from the bottom of a long glass tube”, “man has taken all things this old earth can give” may have already manifested in just 55 years since the song came out.
As we navigate an exciting future filled with challenges, we take a minute to look back at 2025. The accompanying clip has Wes and me briefly highlighting the details. GMC continues to forge ahead providing needed capital to the commercial real estate community in Dallas and across the country. Most important to our year I am honored to welcome Adam Tunks and David Smith as partners in our company. As I approach 70 years old in 2027 their support is crucial to our success, our future and keeping me motivated to continue to be the best underwriter I can be. Our past year was proof we are a great unit.
There are some on the planet now that will be alive in 2125. Hopefully we will become more relaxed, united and human given all those challenges technology brings to make life easier. I’m optimistic.
